I saw President Obama play HORSE (actually, POTUS) with NCAA basketball analyst Clark Kellogg the other day. After missing his first few shots, he sunk a half dozen three pointers in a row. All in very nice form, too.
But then he had to go and blow it all.
Yesterday, the President threw out the first pitch in the season opener between the Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies.
The damn thing had a better arc on it than his jump shot.
I was thinking, since the Prez is in the habit of taxing things that are bad for us like cigarettes, sweet drinks and junk food, perhaps he might consider adding to the list a surtax on the unintentional Eephus ball.

Peter, don’t you think that that game of POTUS with Clark Kellogg was a bit contrived to aggrandize President O’s shooting skills. I mean, come on, a first-round NBA draft pick and still holds the scoring record for Ohio high school basketball finals. I think that opening pitch yesterday spoke volumes about reality and image. Although, I’m thinking Chris Matthews tivo’d it and watches it over and over salivating.

Happy,
You know, I thought that too when I was watching it. How many takes were there too get one where Obama drains a few in a row. But you know, he did miss his first three shots and they have that on air, too.
And Kellogg would have to be in on the conspiracy. If he talks, the scam is exposed.
