Political Correctness Can Kill You

Here is what General George Casey, the U.S. Army Chief of Staff said about the Ft. Hood terrorist attacks:

Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.

Even if we accept the absurd assumption that discharing Major Hasan would have destroyed diversity, would that really be worse than 13 dead and 31 wounded?

The truth is that discharging Nidal Hisan would not have put a minor dent in the diversity of the military, much less society as a whole.

It would seem from Mr. Casey’s statement that he and everyone else in the military lacked the courage to do anything about Malik Nidal Hasan before he went on his little Fort Hood shooting spree for fear that it might have offended the champions of diversity.

We trust our military men to charge hills loaded with maniacal taliban yet they lack the cajones to discharge a senior officer who had repeatedly expressed his allegiance to the enemy?

By the way, I am not surprised that the military would try to cover it’s ass for dropping the ball on Nisan, but I never expected it to come this soon from this high-ranking an official.

A sad, sad day for the U.S. military.

I would qualify myself as surprised, but not shocked. I was a Marine (I know, I know, I still am) and it was astounding how we could go on 10 mile runs singing about pivoting on people’s spleens followed by a 30 minute session on diversity.

The only people that think this mindset is healthy or productive are those that come up with it and those that don’t question stupidity.

Diversity is great but it shouldn’t supersede the lives of soldiers. What a tool!
