Five Nevers From Flach

April 24th, 2009 · No Comments

“Thou’lt come no more,
Never, never, never, never, never!”

- King Lear, Act V, Scene iii -

I’m a little late to this one, but I found another great post from Robert Flach, The Wandering Tax Pro, titled 5 Times It Is Okay to Say “Never:

Despite what the title of Sean Connery’s last James Bond film recommends, there are times when you can say “never”, especially when it comes to tax returns.

Here’s one of Robert’s “nevers” I will never tire of hearing:

NEVER accept tax advice from anyone other than a professional tax preparer. Don’t listen to a broker, a banker, an insurance salesman, or your Uncle Charlie! You wouldn’t ask your butcher for a medical opinion, so why would you listen to tax advice from your MD?

Then again some surgeons have been known to botch up an operation so bad you would have been better off hiring your butcher.
