Update on the Tax Lawyer’s Petition to Commissioner on IRS Right to Counsel Abuses

April 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

Last week I told you that I am preparing a petition to be sent to IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman about the serial abuse by IRS Revenue Agents of taxpayers’ right to representation.

I appreciate the emails and comments I received from several tax practitioners who have had similar experiences with rogue IRS agents.

I have obtained an affidavit from my client and will be drafting the preliminary petition over the weekend.

I hope to publish a draft of the petition by Wednesday of next week.

Again, the draft will be published at Letter to Commissioner on Abuses of Taxpayers’ Right to Counsel.

I welcome your comments, corrections and suggestions.

In the meantime, I want to thank Russ Fox of Taxable Talk for writing about this case at A Good Blog to Visit.
