The IRS announced on Thursday that it has met its goal of hiring 1,000 veterans for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2008.
Here’s what IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said:
The men and women who served America in the military are highly capable and trained individuals ready to supply valuable skills needed by the IRS, or any employer for that matter. I am pleased the IRS has met its goal. But we are not going to stop there. We will continue to recruit from this talented pool of people who already have demonstrated their leadership, work ethic and dedication.
Now I’ll just sit back and chew on my fingernails until a battle-tested American veteran is assigned to wield the vast power of the U.S. Government in seizing the assets of one of my saintly clients.
See IR-2008-101 for the full text of the announcement.
We don’t often compliment the IRS, but this is one case where praise is warranted.
Kudos!
